Well, the truth is that you can use
"among" or "amongst" and you would still be right.
In use, they are interchangeable.
In practice, however, "among" is much more frequently used in
modern writing.
But, never let anyone tell you that
you are wrong to use "amongst" as it may indeed be the right
choice because of style or its slightly different sound.
