Using "HyperGrammar"

Recently, I had an English 12 student request further information on using punctuation. While searching the Web, I came across a great resource.

The University of Ottawa makes their resources at The Writing Centre available to all. They call it a "HyperGrammar" and it includes not only thorough explanations of each point, but also interactive quizzes to check on your understanding.

The HyperGrammar also includes linkable text for all new terms, so if you, for example, come across the term "interjection" and are not sure what that is, you can easily click on the word for an explanation.

Developed by a team of professors in 1993 (not to worry, the interface has been updated), it is one of the earliest examples I know of that demonstrates the immense power of a linkable document in teaching difficult concepts online. Enjoy!
