Writing for the Web

Students in English and Writing classes at the PALC practice writing articles for the web. Doing so is different than other forms of writing, however.

Keep Paragraphs Short
Although regular paragraphs may address multiple points, for the web keep to one main point per paragraph. Keep paragraphs short.

Attract Attention
Readers online have limited attention spans. Remember that when creating content for the web. Readers will often only read parts of your writing. Make everything valuable.

Use Headlines
Use headlines to signpost the information your readers need to know. Help them find information easily.
