Are You Perfect? Present Perfect!

How well do you know the present perfect tense? In my experience as a teacher at the PALC, I've found that many students make little use of this tricky but important tense in English.

Common ways to use the present perfect include sentences like "I've just finished the class." or "I've lived in Vancouver for five years". Here's a lesson on Adverbial Time and the Present Perfect from the archives.

For a more complete explanation of the present perfect, visit the present perfect page at Charles Darling's Guide to Grammar and Writing.

Using the tense correctly will make your writing better.
