The Spice of the Writer's Life
Varied writing is writing that is
most effective. Some ways you can achieve variety: use simple,
compound, and compound-complex sentences; use colons, dashes, and
semicolons where appropriate; use synonyms for key words to avoid
unnecessary repetitions; and, most importantly, read everything
you write out loud to check its sound and rhythm.
