Raksha BandhanHarshika's paragraph gives us a detailed look at a custom celebrated in August by Hindus in India.

 Raksha Bandhan
by Harshika

One of the most important customs in India is Raksha Bandhan. First, Raksha Bandhan is an important custom between brother and sister. This custom has been celebrated for a long time. This day is very important for every brother and sister. Hindu people celebrate this custom, which comes in August every year. This custom is celebrated by young and old. Second, on Raksha Bandhan's day all sisters tie a decorated string on their brother's wrist. This string is called rakhee in our language. Rakhee can be simple or decorated and come in many colours. Next, sisters worship their brothers and pray to God for his long life, good health and prosperous life. Then, the brother gives a gift of money to his sister. Later, they have lunch with the whole family. After that, they got to the temple and then they got to the movies. Females who have no brother may tie rakhee on another man that she respects as a brother. If a sister and brother are far away from each other in a different country, they can send their rakhee by mail. Finally, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated with great care and enhances the love for brother and sister.
