Topics in Threes: Dividing Ideas
November 15, 2001
Standard essays
consist of three body paragraphs. To write three, think of a topic in
three ways. Tonight, we'll look at our own lives over the past 10 years
to divide our ideas into three.
Quickly note your answers
to these three prompts:
1. What three important things did you learn over the past ten years
and how did you learn them?
2. What were your three most important personal events in the last ten
years?
3. Imagine that the past 10 years was one-half a journey. What three
things remain for you to accomplish in the next ten years of this
journey?
Now, write three fifty-word paragraphs on one of the three topics above.
