Advanced Composition
Examining the Great Writers

April 21 and 22, 2004

 

This week, we will look at the examples of writing brought in by the students for their homework assignment from last week. The teacher will help in a discussion of the writing techniques demonstrating in each example.

 

Class Discussion

Students will share pieces of writing from their homework for class discussion and analysis.

Homework Assignment

Write an essay of about 300 words. In the essay, use three of the writing techniques discussed in this week's class.

Describe a favourite person: In paragraph one, physical characteristics; in paragraph two, home setting; in paragraph three, by words or sayings.

Bring your completed work to class in two weeks.
