Free counselling and advising help is
available to any student attending the Pearson Adult Learning Centre.
There are two kinds of counselling offered:
Jane Osborne, Personal Counsellor, has
a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and has worked with adult
students for 15 years. Students can come to see Jane with any question,
concern, or problem. She provides help with personal difficulties in
all areas including relationships, school, and work; anything that is
making it difficult for a student to focus on his or her studies! She
also helps students with forms and dealing with government agencies or
offices, and finding other help and resources in the community.
Elaine Ward, Vocational Counsellor,
has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and has worked with adult
students for 12 years. Students can come to see Elaine with any
questions about work, career options, and post secondary education. She
helps students choose a career path and has up to date information on
college, university and other training programs, as well as job market
Both Elaine and Jane offer information
sessions, workshops, and groups on various topics.
