The New Term: Exciting Changes
Brad's Weekly Feature

This week's feature is full of important information for new and returning students. Find out about changes to classes, teachers' assignments and more.

Starting on January 14, the PALC begins registration for the January to June term. Classes will be in session from January 21 through March 16. A three week Spring Break follows from March 18 through April 5. Classes resume on April 8 through to the end of May.

All students will receive a personalized schedule for the new term. On it will be your name, student number, and classes. Don't lose it! Your schedule is your "ticket" to classes. As you know, students may ONLY attend classes to which they have been assigned.

We are pleased to announce some changes to our classes this term. Three new levels have been created to better serve student needs: Level 2-3A; Level 3B-C; Level 5 (English only). Note that higher level students now have THREE steps to English 10 completion: Level 4; Level 5; Level 10. Pat will teach Level 5, Patricia Level 4, and Brad Level 10.

Some changes to teachers' class assignments are worth noting. Brad and L now teach the Literature and Composition 4 class formerly taught by Louise. Louise now has two classes of Communications 12. Note Louise's new Communications 12 class rule: one course (self paced course) assignment must be completed every two weeks in order for a student to attend the weekly classes. In the evenings, Trudi will add a support class for Communications 12 students.

Lastly, please be aware that we expect waiting lists for many of our classes this coming term. Make sure you write a certificate test (if you haven't already) before classes begin on January 21st. We cannot guarantee a place to returning students who have not written tests, or who have been absent for a period of time. We will continue to accept new students as space becomes available.

I'd like to wish everyone a successful new term. Be patient with us the first week or so as everyone gets used to the new schedules, classes, and teachers. Good luck to you all!
