Lynn Canyon Park
Pat's Weekly Feature

Would you like to walk across a suspension bridge in a forest that is centuries old? Do you enjoy beautiful views of nature, waterfalls and lakes? Have you considered hiking the Baden-Powell Trail?

Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver offers all these activities, scenery, and more. Even better, a visit to Lynn Canyon Park is free.

Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, built in 1912, sways and bounces around as people walk across. Amazing views of waterfalls, the canyon, and Lynn Creek can be seen from the 50-metre high bridge. After reaching the other side of the bridge, you can go hiking on the Baden-Powell Trail, which is 40 kilometers long, and stretches from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove. Some trails lead to more bridges, waterfalls and a lake.

Visit the Ecology Centre to learn more about the natural history of the park, including local plants and animals. Watch a movie about the temperate rainforest of Lynn Canyon Park.

The following Websites provide photographs of the park, general information, directions by car or public transportation, and a quiz.
