Ratatouille, Reflections, Resolutions, and the Year of the Rat
by L

The Rat is here! Whether it is Ratatouille or the Chinese zodiac Rat, we seem to be inundated with rats lately. Thankfully, they are rats of the hygienic and inspiring kind.

Ratatouille, the box-office sensation of 2007, features a talented and ambitious rat who aspires to be the best chef in the world – against almost insurmountable physical, cultural, and social pressures. His singularity of purpose and eventual success against all odds is an inspiration to the rest of us with real or imagined limitations.

Chinese New Year is February 7. Here’s a second chance for those of us who missed making (or keeping) a New Year resolution to reflect on where we are and where we want to be. It is not too difficult to make and keep a resolution if you think of it as a journey that might have small bumps and diversions along the way – the important thing is to reflect regularly to check where you are and to keep generally in the right direction.

Let your light shine to help illuminate others. “As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” (Marianne Williamson)
