Trudi's Weekly Feature
Summer Fun 2009

Sunday, June 21st is not only going to be a day to celebrate Fatherís Day but is going to be the first official day of summer as well.

Summer is finally here, and there will be a lot of things to do in the Lower Mainland. Whatever the weather, there will be a wide variety of activities you and your family can enjoy. Take some time to go somewhere new or do something different. You can travel the world while staying close to home.

For example, there is a Festival of India in Surrey or the summer night market in Richmond.  You can learn more about the importance of the Fraser River at the Hyack Fraser Festival in New Westminster.

Also, donít forget that you can go to the library in your neighbourhood and read a book or have your children participate in one of the summer reading programs. Whatever you choose to do this summer, take some time and enjoy some of the many things available.
