Improving Your English Online
by Patricia

March break is a good time to relax and enjoy your family and friends, but it is also a good time to improve your English on-line. To start, have a look at this Pearson Adult Learning Centre website which has numerous quizzes and readings that you may find useful. Then explore the other sites listed below.  They should help you with your reading, writing, listening and speaking.  Both language guide.org and pdictionary.com have words and images for everyday items like food and household goods. The mced services and Alberta advanced education sites have short readings that are read aloud to help you learn common words. The last one even features personal stories written by ESL learners. The literacy centre site teaches basic shapes, numbers and colors with interactive activities.  If you want to test your grammar skills, click on 4 esl.org or the University of Victoria study zone. If you want to improve your listening, try self access or manythings.org.  Have fun exploring these helpful websites, and you’ll be ready to return to school on April 4 having just practiced your newly learned skills.
