On With the Show: Are You Showing
or Just Telling?
A Night to Remember
Raising young children can be difficult at
times. One night, my daughter had a bad case of the chickenpox. Each
spot itched her terribly. She writhed wildly in her bed, so I tried
putting her in the bath with a special solution for the itching. That
worked as long as she stayed in the tub, but as soon as she got out, the
spots were as itchy as ever. Finally, I stayed all night with her,
stroking her brow and saying, ďItís okayĒ over and over again. Perhaps
we slept a few minutes, I donít remember. In the morning, my head felt
like it was filled with cement. The next night was my wifeís turn, but
her difficulty was worse: they slept not even one minute that night!
